What happens during the 30-minute call?

A partner asks about your numbers, your plans for the next 12 months and what prompted you to get in touch. We share what we would look at first and suggest two or three next steps, whether or not you hire us. If we are not the right fit, we say so and, where we can, suggest who might be. There is no sales pitch and no obligation.

Who joins the call from your side?

Accepted Answer

A partner: usually Maren Stavely for fractional CFO and reporting work, or Daniel Rowe for fundraising and exit readiness. If your questions are mostly about models or forecasting, Leah Okonjo may join as well. You speak with the people who would do the work, not a sales team. From your side, the CEO or founder is usually enough for a first call.

What should we prepare before the call?

Accepted Answer

Nothing is required. If you have them, your last three months of financial statements, your current forecast or budget and your latest board or investor update help us give sharper suggestions. A one-line note on what prompted the call is useful too. Please do not send bank logins or passwords. We never ask for them, before or during an engagement.

What if none of the available times work for us?

Use the short form on this page, or email hello@stavelyrowe.com with two or three times that suit you and your time zone. We reply within one business day. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 6:00 pm ET, and we can usually find a time outside the calendar for teams on the West Coast or with packed weeks.
